Colonial Meeting Rooms

The old offices of the Philippines Tobacco Company have been expertly restored and refurbished to host private meetings and lunches.

The first to use the building as a center for commerce were the members of the López y López Company, Marqueses de Comillas, the owners and founders of the Philippines Tobacco Company. Among them was Don Claudio López y Bru, the company’s second president, whose bust, rendered by sculptor Josep Llimona, presides over one of the Colonial Conference Rooms.

Towards the middle of the 20th century, Jaime Gil de Biedma arose as a prominent poet, a member of the literary generation of the 50s. He was also secretary general of the Tobacco Company. Today, his office constitutes part of our Colonial Conference Rooms.

These fabulous spaces are infused with abounding natural light that shines in directly from the Rambla, and feature luxurious mahogany finishes, and restored ceilings and fireplaces that hold all their original elegance.
